Trivia[]

Where the fuck do i find you?

Origin[]

Mataracid is based on Matarael, a being classified the Ninth Angel from the 1995 anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. The first part of its name is directly derived from that name. The second part, the '-acid', is derived from Matarael's special powers exhibited in its appearance in Neon Genesis Evangelion, which involved leaking acid from its eyes. This is reflected in Mataracid's moveset, which contains ten different moves which utilize acids or corrosive agents. While Mataracid's moveset includes Power Surge and the episode featuring Matarael involved a power outage, Matarael was uninvolved in the outage in the show.

Its access to web moves may be based on its resemblance to spiders, whose being common phobias may be why it has access to some Fear-type moves.
