Trivia[]

Origin[]

Desert Tree[]

Saplom @ Saplomite

Ability: Sap Sipper

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Speed

Adamant Nature

- Desert Tree

- Sandblast

- Swords Dance/Leech Seed/Sandstorm

- Needle Arm/Wood Hammer

For this set, either have a Sandstream mon on your team (has good synergy with Warchon) or use Sandstorm on Saplom. Saplom has two STAB moves that hit like a truck in sandstorm. Have Sap Sipper as your ability to potentially get an Attack boost and safely switch in. It gets Sand Rush in its mega form, allowing you to outspeed many things. In short, it absolutely destroys in the sand. For your last move, I would suggest Needle Arm (has 80BP) or Wood Hammer.

Defense is the best offense[]

Saplom @ Leftovers/Saplomite

Ability: Oasis

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Speed

Impish Nature

- Barkskin

- Bark Press

- Body Press

- Guardian Leaf/Leech Seed/Shore Up/Arboreum

Saplom learns both Body Press and a Wood-type Body Press called Bark Press. It has a pretty great Defense stat (base 125, higher than its Attack stat). Combined with Barkskin (Sharply raises Defense and powers up the next Wood-type move) you can become both hard to kill and hit like a truck with a STAB boosted+further boosted move coming off your boosted Defense. You could use Arboreum or have one of your other pokemon set up Arboreum to hit EVEN HARDER with Bark Press because it gives you both a x1.5 defense boost and a x1.5 boost to wood-type moves. For your last move you could go with Guardian Leaf, a physical grass-type move with a chance to raise defense for coverage and a chance to power up your other moves or Leech Seed for some heals. Shore Up is another option if you are using it in Sandstorm. Oasis would pair well with a sandstorm team for further heals. Give it Leftovers to heal a large amount of health every turn and be very hard to kill, or go with the megastone to further boost your defense/attack power.
